A medical graduate from India, Dr. Rajeev Sudhakar’s desire to develop the highest level of clinical expertise and remain at the forefront of advances in cardiovascular medicine led him to pursue his medical career in the United States.
Dr. Sudhakar completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. Following his training, he chose to dedicate the early years of his career to serving patients in the Saginaw, Michigan area. During his six years of practice there, his leadership skills and commitment to high-quality patient care led to his selection as Section Chief.
Dr. Sudhakar later relocated to the Dallas area with his wife and three children, where he continues his commitment to serving patients, advancing professionally, and providing comprehensive cardiovascular care.
One of Dr. Sudhakar’s primary areas of focus is preventive cardiology. He believes that waiting for cardiovascular symptoms to develop can sometimes mean waiting too long. For this reason, he emphasizes patient education, early identification of cardiovascular risk factors, and healthy lifestyle modifications as important components of maintaining long-term heart health. In addition to preventive cardiology, Dr. Sudhakar specializes in the management of hypertension, lipid disorders, congestive heart failure, and cardio-oncology. His approach centers on helping patients understand their cardiovascular health and working together to develop individualized treatment and prevention strategies.
